HMCCC's Music Director:

Mr. Ric Jefferson is excited to be part of HMCCC family. As a young child he began to show an interest in music. Coming from a musical family (gospel recording artist “The Jefferson Singers”), he began singing professionally at the age of 6. By his teenage years he began studying with some of the greats in music academia. Dr. Jerry Langenkamp, Scott Blankenbaker, Rod A. Walker, Nick Saverine, and Dr. Robert Ray are a few artists/educators who helped to influence him and really paved the path for a productive musical career.

Mr. Jefferson received BA in music performance from Fort Hays State University. He participated in workshops and master classes with William & Mary College, AMDA, and Julliard, among others. Ric traveled the U.S and Europe as a featured soloist/performer/actor before settling down in Kansas City.
Mr. Jefferson has been very active in the Kansas City arts community for almost ten years, working with most of the major playhouses in the city, including Kansas City Repertory Theater, Metropolitan Ensemble Theatre, The Unicorn Theatre and the Theater League, Lyric Opera, and JCCC Carlsen Center. Ric worked in nearly every aspect of the theatre industry, from sales, marketing & education to performance & directing. Mr. Jefferson is now serving as co-founder and Artistic Director of JERIC Productions.
